Fares

Effective March 1, 2012, the City of Houston regulated taxi meter rate is the following:

• $2.75 for the first 1/11 mile, and $0.20 for each additional 1/11 mile ($4.75 for the first mile and $2.20 for every mile thereafter)
• People 60 and older receive a 10% discount on fares.
• Waiting is calculated on the taxi meter at $0.40 per minute ($24.00 Per Hour)
• There is an additional $1 surcharge on all trips which commence between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
• Flag Pull (entry) for the first 1/11 mile: $ 2.75
• Each additional 1/11 mile: $ 0.20
• Rate per mile after 1st mile: $ 2.20
• Wait time per minute: $ 0.40
• Wait time per hour: $ 24.00
